THINK BIG and CHECK OUT. Curated by LaRete Art Projects
OPENING December 3rd, 2013 - 6-10 pm

LaRete Art Project’s Julia Draganović, Elena Forin and Claudia Löffelholz contrived for the renewed collaboration as curators for the 24th edition of Art Miami, Miami’s historic fair of contemporary and modern art, and for the 2nd edition of CONTEXT, the strictly contemporary branch of the fair, new special projects.
THINK BIG gives artists participating in Art Miami space to stretch out in the passageways linking the fair’s three main pavilions. “Thinking big” is not only a question of the artworks’ size and scale: expect to see daring ideas, innovative approaches to everyday life, and courageous concepts for major changes presented by visionary artists. THINK BIG pays homage to León Ferrari, the Argentinian master who passed away this year at the age of 83, with a solo presentation of his wall pieces and sculpture. The curatorial team is excited to feature The Intimate Subversion, an installation by Spanish artist Ángel Marcos which is a follow-up to his homonymous collateral project at the 55th Venice Biennial in 2013. Miler Lagos and Sean Slemon envelop an entire connector tent in an immersive installation dwelling on trees and dedicated to the endangered flora. These and other thought-provoking projects will transport viewers as they navigate the fair. With: Chul Hyun Ahn, John Baldessari, Mat Collishaw, Wouter Deruytter, León Ferrari, Cameron Gray, Miler Lagos, Sami Lukkarinen, Ángel Marcos, Mimmo Paladino, Jorge Pardo, John Ruppert, Shuli Sade, George Sherwood, Sean Slemon, Jeremy Thomas, Timotheus Tomicek, Bernard Williams.
CHECK OUT installs captivating and provocative sculptures in the areas of highest exposure at Art Miami and CONTEXT. LaRete Art Projects has invited exhibitors to showcase these pieces by individual artists. Check these pieces out – we consider them exceptional works of cutting-edge art or gems among modern classics! With: Pablo Atchugarry, Milton Becerra, Beto De Volder, Mark Jenkins, George Rickey, Lionel Smit, Sophia Vari.
