Etcetera...

The International Award for Participatory Art brings Etcetera to Bologna. Residence of the finalists of the 2nd edition. 01/10>14/10/2012

From 1 to 14 October 2012, the Argentine collective of artists and performers known as Etcetera spend  their residency of the second edition of the International Award for Participatory Art in Bologna. Two public presentations are scheduled: Open Studios on October 6 at Nosadella.due (Via Nosadella 2) from 6.30–8.30 pm and October 13 at the roBOt festival starting at 4 pm at Palazzo Re Enzo.

The presence of Loreto Garin Guzmán and Federico Zukerfeld, will not go unnoticed as they spend time researching and learning about the city as guests of the residency program, Nosadella.due. Like the word etcetera, they elude definition. They are a group of artists, poets and actors, but as the word etcetera they are the present tense, singular and plural, male and female. They cannot be counted as they add, subtract, multiply and divide, opening your mind and imagination in their performance. Etcetera’s work addresses contemporary social and political issues with creativity, humor and audience participation. Every performance is spontaneous and cannot be anticipated.
The biennial Award is aimed at artists who have distinguished themselves on the international scene for their participatory practices born in a particular region. Curated by Julia Draganović and Claudia Löffelholz, promoted by the Legislative Assembly of the Region Emilia-Romagna and in collaboration with LaRete Art Projects and La Pillola, the Award experiments with audience participation through art projects that create new spaces of confrontation, negotiation and decision making with an open public.
